Wyoming County Int'l Speedway - Repaving Corners/Postponing Opening Day to Mid-June

The 60+ year old facility, still rocking the old pavement from the early 70s, will be getting a facelift in turns 1-2 and 3-4 this month. Management at famed Perry Bullring had anticipated this happening later in the season during the gap leading up to the Shootout at the Bullring, but things fell into place just right to take on this project earlier than expected. This, in combination with tire supply issues led to a postponement of opening day, originally scheduled for this Saturday, May 14th, to mid-June (date TBD based on the asphalt curing and surface testing process).

Would also like to give a shout out to Chris over at Charlie's Paving who will be performing the re-pave, and we look forward to what the new surface will provide in terms of improved competition and experience for the racers!

With this said, we have added an additional practice with pit gates opening at 11:00am, and practice running from 12:00pm-5:00pm.

Looks like a slow start to the season ,the tire shortage, weather and just a general feeling of doom for the asphalt racing scene.

I agree, good thing though is the improvements for when we have our opening day should amplify the experience for both fans and racers alike!
