Where would you send idea about older people driving

I'm sick of old people that dont know how to drive, today coming from tops on geo urban almost got wrecked because person in left lane just changes lanes with out turn signal and slides into my lane.
i was wondering do i contact dmv about idea or government officials

i understand that but more than  not its either the really young driver who just got their license or older drivers who cant driver either way i think something needs to be done maybe retaking your road test once you get over the age of 55

You could always put 'em into the fence, and then hand them a business card for Krazy KTz and tell them that they can get new spindles and tons of other stuff there, all while enjoying a cold silver bullet.... ;D ;D

maybe insurance companies should force everyone to take defensive driving classes?

I am 60 and never had an accident or any type of ticket.  I drove fire trucks and ambluances for 30 years and never any problems.  The only thing now about being 60 is everything is new to me as I forgot what was old.....LOL......Raceguy also does a good job driving on either the top or bottom of the car (race car that is).  Mike is always safe except when they have those $tupid concrete road mediums.......

Hey wait a dern minute.. I'm over 55 and I'm not ready to be put out to pasture yet! 

Lets see if my old memory serves me correctly in the last 30 years, I have had NO accidents, NO near misses, NO anything..  I did recently get a seat belt ticket..

oh yea so I don't jinx myself (KNOCK ON WOOD)..

Just so you know we are not all bad drivers.. 8)

Like Chargincharlie said:  Old people aren't the only ones that do dumb things.  What about the young people with the cell phone permanently bonded to the side of their head, and their gazillion watt stereo shakin'  the street?  I don't suppose THEY ever do anything stupid!! LOL!

Actually come to think of it, i think it would be good idea every 10 yrs to retake your road test? Okay maybe i was lil harsh to throw older people under the bus, but i guess their is good drivers that are older and bad drivers, same with younger people. But the  only thing i think should be done is when you reach a certain age and your children and grandchildren are tell you shouldnt drive anymore maybe you should listen!

It may be an older person who almost caused your wreck, however there are all sorts of idiots on the road.  Monday I was getting ready to turn onto Rt. 13 in Ithaca (and three vehicles ahead of me had already made the turn) however when I went to make my turn, a pick up truck ran the red light and I almost t-boned him.  He was very oblivious to the fact of what he had done.  I thank my lucky stars that I have great brakes on my car and that someone was looking out for me that day.  A few seconds earlier and I would have been the one t-boned (on the drivers side).

To set the record straight, I have only hit a jersey barrier ONCE. and yes, it was when i was 17, had a hot rod and got a little too carried away with the gas pedal and did not excersize "Care in Starting from stop".. whatever that means, I think it translates into $75.00 ticket and just a little teeny nick in the rear bumper... The worst part of the deal was, when I came to a stop, facing the wrong way bumper up against the barrier, I look over and theres my future father in law on the other side sitting in the turn lane. :

Old people shouldnt drive period! After 60, should be mandatory yearly eyes and ear exams and yearly roadtests! Im sorry, People lose thier motor skills with age! I know someday Ill be 60...blah blah!

i'm not sure how it works today but pa. used to require a retest if you reached 6 points on your driving record. suspension at 11 points.
it seems i got stuck somewhere between 6 and 11 for most of my early driving days. i also took the retest about 6 times to be exact. they remove 2 points from your record for 1 year with no violations. everytime it went below 6 i would somehow be found doing something silly or dangerous with my ride. hence back above six and another retest upcoming. that seemed to get old as the points thing grew steadily until i reached the dreaded 11 points. knowing the walking papers were in the system i went on a "see how many points i could get before they took it" mission. something my father always told me i would regret after they yanked his policy along with mine because i worked for him and lived in his house.
i did manage to get the tally up to 22 before the papers came in the mail. my 55 day suspension went to slighlty over a year. i know now that people driving without a license are the safest drivers out there. they always use their turn signals and stop at stop signs. i still have all my driving awards (citations) in a shoe box, laying flat and the lid pops off if not weighted down.
when i showed it ( the box of tickets) to dawn and she read a few she asked if i had a license again and wanted to see it. what happened to the good old days when a fella could have a drivers license for every state!
careless driving is serious and dangerous but, it will always be there. just pretend every vehicle you see is out to get you and you should be ok. if not, thats what the insurance is for.
there is no such thing as an accident. every thing that happens has a cause.
