Sorry, but, I don't get all excited over 15/16 starting fields for the features (hats off to the Sportsman & TQs for very strong support)..Running the Modifieds LAST on the program " inexcusable"..11:00 starting time for your main feature, when your crowd is cold & leaving, is shameful..The racing was exciting, but, the "on track" crew were slooooooow!!!!Bash away if you want, but, these opinions are shared by many WHO WERE THERE..

And , how in Gods name, can you spin out "all by yourself" prior to the green, & get your position back...VERY BAD CALL MR. HARPELL...Favorites...Hmmmm????

This was my first race all year at Lancaster, the end of the Street Stock feature was great but I was really dissapointed in the rest of it, this is was always my favorite class but attrition killed the field last night. . The 20 looked like he was real fast in the heat, I don't know what happened to him on the start. The 23 was fast which is a sign of things to come for him for next year. The 37 doesn't usually make mistakes like that. But hey, thats the US OPEN, let it all hang out. Good too see he's ok. He was real fast too. All year I read on here that the 06,29,37,20 were the class of the field all year. From what I saw in the heats it would've been a great race. Sitting in turn one someone behind me said the 06 drove past tech?

The rest of the races were good. Lates were awesome! Good to see Joe Mancuso win, nice to see nice guys win.

C,mon! That one's easy--no laps were scored, and because it WAS prior to the green, it's a "no start" and therefore the line-up is restored to the original--what's the problem???

From my view in the pits, the leader jumped the start, the 71 didn't go and the 44 which had a good run tagged the 71 slightly while trying to miss him which helped him around...I had the 44 car owner right next to m, he didnt have an issue with the 71 getting his spot back bc it was a no start....I'm assuming that is the way Andrew saw it as well....

20 car broke the rotor and put a hole in the distibutor cap.we thought we had a goid shot at the win but thats racing

Jazzy; I can accept your opinion, because, you had the best angle to see this, BUT, then if it is as you discribed, then the 44 car should have been sent tail for spinning out the71 "under caution..The explanation over the speakers was that the green had not been given..sooooo...Hmmm..

Howie, I agree, but however the field had taken the white and was coming up to speed then when the leader jumped and they didnt throw the green and called off the start, perhaps the 71's spotter called it quicker then the 44? we'll never know for sure, but the 71 looked slow on his re-starts all night, esp after the mid way point when he had pretty much burned off his tires stayin up front.....

YOU MUST MAINTAIN YOUR POSITION, Mike, or go tail...Always was & always will be ,.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Howie:  OK, I get what you're saying BUT since scoring is done going back but the race had not yet officially started,  A RACE DIRECTOR'S CALL trumps ALL other rules, regardless--Always was & always will be!!!

Using your logic, if a start is "waved off", the driver (the leader), should be sent to the back? If it's NOT an official start, no movement behind the leader counts as the laps aren't scored until the cars actually cross the start-finish line--neither electronic or manual scoring can start until then..."jumping the start" has never resulted in the violating driver being sent "tail"the race" hasn't started, thus no scoring, thus revert back to the original lineup!

Anyone can question it but in the end, just like a so-called problem with a bank, the bank is ALWAYS right!!!

I thought we had a great group of cars...I don't think we need a full field,if we have 15 cars that can win the race.sometimes to many cars means "score em where they land racing"....This has happened at many us opens. We(team 44) had no problem with Jimmy getting his spot back,It was a no start and jazzy's right.Remember people the track crew gets tired too. These people worked there ASSES off Friday, and put in a ton of overtime yesterday......I don't know the costs to get in to the track, but i think the fans got their moneys worth.

PS.... great stories Howie about uncle Nick and AJ Foyt, and thanks for all you do!!!Thanks to Bobby Holmes for stepping in and wheeling the 44, and your family's hospitality afterwards..Sean

First of all I'm glad the track got the event in, secondly the sportsman race was great, latemodel is bobby webber and George skora that good, or is the rest of field not up to competition. Mods i understand why they went to single file restarts, it sucked but they were problem more worried about the cars crashing out of the restart due to combination of both tires and track condition. That moved Matt put on towards the end was awesome, and when was the last time you went to lancaster speedway and was home after 11pm i as a fan enjoyed being there the whole night. Just wish it wasnt that cold at the end and would have wore some long johns.

Hats off to the sportsman and tq guys for both the car count and show. Around 30 tqs and 30+ sportsman is impressive!!! I think dtrp should know where to start a good foundation with these 2 divisions. The mod show I feel didn't get a fair shake considering the single file restarts all race but other than that a good show all around. I know I give criticism when it's due but great job done by all drivers, owners, crew, track workers and sponsors. It's still a shame to see the place in such disrepair (the turn 4 grandstand and such) but a pat on the back to the men and women that made that marathon of a show happen. And another tip of the hat to the super stocks for having as many cars as they did after 5 car fields all year. But I do agree with Howie for the open the sportsman and tqs were the only impressive fields for "the big race"

The Open is my favorite race (in NY) and I so look forward to it  every year. Last night was no exception and outside of the scheduling issues and non calls,

I thought it went OK.  Sorry to see the hard lick and subsequent broken arm to first time Dunn racer Jody Buckley. Hope your on the mend. Also, I didn't like

seeing my friend Doug Reaume getting sent hard into the turn 4 foam as the recipient  of some bad racing luck and a abrupt end to his season. Glad to see

the safety equipment do it's thing. One of my favorite racers (a lady) held a "school" on racing etiquette for one of her competitors after a practice

incident on the track. He now knows she's no pushover and it won't be tolerated. YOU GO GIRL!!!  Had fun "racing" with Woody and "jazzy' on  Friday

but my lowly Dakota was no match to his silver Stang'. God, I hate losing to a Ford. LOL!!  Who was the tow truck driver Mike? who brought the Kochenash

gang that giant pizza in the pits? They were blown away by that and I explained to them that is how the rank and file good folks at DTRP are. They look

forward to returning next year. As do I.

The racing was just about everything expected.  A jam-packed day.

The midget race...always good to watch Dave Wollaber try to come from the back of the pack.

Sportsmen...thought Skora had something for Andy J!  Also, why doesn't anyone else exploit lack of body rules?  ;)

Late Models...wow those 2 cars were fast.  Good to see a clean finish.

Modifieds...Wasn't a terrible race, but it was easy to see who had to push hard and who could ride it out for a dash at the finish.  I was surprised to see TJ hold on for as long as he did, but not surprised at all when Hirschman had way more left at the end.  Best to watch had to be with 15 to go when Ebersole must have looked up at his gauges and seen this.  LOL.

37 sportsman (2 consi's run)
20 super stocks
27 tq's
22 4 cyl
20 legends
18 tour mods (plus sportsman)
15 late models
12 street stocks

I'm doing car counts from memory as I turned in my paperwork to the office late last night, so forgive me if I'm off on the legends

Matt_s86, not sure what you're implying, but the 57x was impounded after the sportsman race, held at the tech barn until he could run as part of the RoC Mod Feature and then tech'd just like the rest of the top 4 finishers in sportsman feature.
