I see that things on here are dead lately so i thought up this topic to get a little chatter going.

That's a rather "open ended" question, therefore potentially a difficult question to answer. Do you mean drivers that raced a Street Stock, and remained in that class, or drivers that began in Street Stocks, and then moved up to the modifieds?

I mean drivers that dominated the street stocks and then moved on to modifieds etc.like Jan Leaty,Buck Catalano,Bill Hebing and so on .I am talking about all the southern tier drivers also like the entire Zacharias family,Vince Randisi etc.

With respect to drivers who remained in the street stock division, right off the top of my head, I can think of a few front runners from Spencer's, such as Don Dippel, Jack Furman (or, was it Ferman?), Dave London, Dave Seils..............

At Shangri-La In the late 80's and early 90's there were 15 cars or better that could win the feature on any given night depending on how things shook out... Pretty hard to pick the best out of a field like that.

I've been watching street Stocks since the 70's. Seen a bunch of really good drivers, but if you ask who the best I ever saw was, it's actually easy, Buck Catalano. No matter where he was racing, he was racing for the win.

How about Tony Vecchio Jr. in his Dodge Charger #231 which was a team car to Don Krofts #231 modified out of Syracuse.
