Statement from our head flagger
“I wanted to address something that happened during the 602 sportsman race last night. As the pack was coming out of turn 4 I had my eyes on the lead duo as there was a tight race going on. At that time a car spun up high in turn 4 and my eyes were already focused into turns 1 and 2. Our turn 4 flaggers radio died right as this occurred (horrible timing) and he was trying to yell yellow yellow. Once the cars came back down the back stretch I realized something was going on and turned the lights on and yelled yellow on driver radio. Luckily no other incident occurred and everyone missed the spun out car as the drivers did a good job slowing down once they realized what was going on. My 1st and most important responsibility will always be for the safety of everyone on the track at any time.
Otherwise, I want to thank all of the racers last night for being ready to go on the line, listening to radio communications, and getting the show through in decent timing. Thank you and have a great week!”
