Since there's very little racing currently going on....

.......I thought I'd post this "tidbit", in the "racing section". I was scanning western NY, on the 'Google Earth' website, looking for some travel route information. While doing that, I was thinking of today's postponed Bristol dirt race, which got me thinking of the DIRT show that's been held at Oswego, in the past. I assumed that the Speedway probably didn't just "throw away" the dirt, after the race was over, and I wondered if the overhead shot from Google would show a big pile of it, outside the track.

I scanned over the speedway, and was surprised to see that the current shot of the speedway was taken while a racing event was in progress. There were a number of cars in the pits, and cars on the track, with some looking like supers (the resolution isn't good enough to make out things really well), as well as a lot of cars and campers in the area surrounding the track. It's a cool shot, and I don't know how long it will be there, as the website updates it's scans occasionally, but I thought I'd mention it, just for grins..........

No, I didn't, but after giving the image that I saw some more thought, something struck me. As far as I know, there wasn't any racing in NY, last season, and Google Earth does update their imaging every so often. The last time I recall being on the Google site, and scanning around that area, the Oswego image didn't didn't show any cars on the track or in the pits, and it didn't show the parking lots at what appears to be "full capacity".

I wonder what's going on. And no, not only didn't I see any big piles of dirt, I didn't see where they could have been stored.....
