sand and/or media blasting

Looking for someone in the Rochester (or outlying) area that can blast my 36 Chevy coupe body and then put in epoxy primer.  The body is rusty, but mostly solid.  There will be some blow through, I know, but I want someone who will take care and not warp it with the heat. Oh, and resonably priced too.  Suggestions?  If you'd rather respond via email, rather than here, it's: wfitzsimmons@yahoo.com

This guy is close, and he's a racer and a RaceNY'er.

John,

Woody doesn't do blasting anymore (I talked to him), but thanks.  Any other ideas? Anyone?  My fall back is Miller's in Rochester. I've dealt with them B4, but kinda wanted to compare with what others can do.

Thanks for the plug John!! No I don't blast as I have to much paint- graphics- fab work going on. Per our phone conversation, sandman sandblasting is by far the best around and shoots any media out there!! He is priced right and includes epoxy primer or zinc primer.

Just a side note,Westward painting has corn cob blasting material which is very forgiving to old bodies.315-348-4047.a ways away from you but wanted to let you know.

Woody,
I'm waiting for a call back from Richard at Sandman, and thanks again for the referral.

kt,
I've used Charlie B4, but last time I checked, he'd had some problems with the neighbors (as I recall) and was no longer blasting (at least for others).  I could double check though.

4b316,
Thanks for the #.  I'll give a call.  Got a name?  Want me to mention you as the referrer? Where located?

Careful with Sandman. He'll quote you a price then double it and tell you it won't be done until spring.

I have used him over 40 times and NEVER had such problem as you claim. I am very peticular with my vendors as the end result is my name. I have sent many customers his way and all praise him and his quality.

Just telling you my experience.

Not to mention, I just got off the phone with the place I ended up taking the chassis to. Ironically Sandman does all their blasting for them, and they do all his powdercoating. I called yesterday to check up on the progress. Well, apparently they called him after I got off the phone with them to find out if it was done, and they have still not heard back from him. He's had the car for 2 weeks now and hasn't touched it, when I was supposed to have the chassis returned and finished by now.

whats a ballpark figure to have a chassis sandblasted and powder coated?

Mod chassis was going for 600-650, but that was with pre-exsisting powdercoat. If it's just paint, I know it's cheaper. IMCA shouldn't be much different than a dirt mod

Anybody know of an outfit that rents out blasting cabinet time? I mean a place you go and pay to use their equipment? I've got some non racing related stuff to blast and was wondering?  Thanks.
