ROC Super Stock chassis question

Do the ROC super stocks use a GM stock frame or do they use a special chassis such as a HOWE type?I saw a picture of an ROC super stock without the body and it was not a GM type frame.Just curious i guess.

I know they can run the Johnson city chassis, not sure how much of the stock chassis has to be utilized otherwise

Boy this class got out of hand fast with the amount of $money that is spent on these cars.The ROC super stocks and the NYSSS were derived from the original strickly stock class or also called street stocks.

Agreed, but they still manufacture new metric frames, just like they manufacture new Johnson style frames. That excuse doesn't fly.

Living in the northeast, where road salt is common, there's no doubt that original metric frames are scarce. When were they last produced, 1986-87?

I wasn't aware that "they" still manufacture new metric frames. Do you mean the GM parts network? Secondly, what is the difference, in cost, between a new "replica" metric frame and a Johnson frame?

'Johnson City Chassis' is a business that manufactures steel tubing chassis, which are "dimensional copies" of the GM metric chassis. They also make all the suspension components, again, dimensionally identical, but hand fabricated, replicas of the original GM parts.

The parts of a gm metric have been reproduced just like the small block Chevy. You can build a complete "Monte Carlo" super stock without using a single actual gm part.
