RACE OF CHAMPIONS DIRT 602 SPORTSMAN SERIES TO RESUME IN 2022
- Four Dates to Highlight Return to Dirt Sportsman for Race of Champions -
Elma, New York (April 2, 2022) – The Race of Champions Dirt 602 Sportsman Modified Series will return to competition in 2022. The Series will run a short and exciting four (4) race schedule at two premier tracks in the region.
The Series returns to the ultra-modern Ohsweken Speedway and Humberstone Speedway in Port Colborne, Ontario.
Event dates are Friday, August 12 at Ohsweken as part of the Brock Leonard Memorial and as part of Championship Night on Friday, September 9.
The biggest date on the Series calendar has always been the Pete Cosco Memorial which will take place on Sunday, August 21 at Humberstone Speedway. The Series will close out the season on Friday, September 30 at Humberstone as part of the track’s “Fall Classic”.
Brad Rouse of St. Catherines, Ontario is a three-time series champion (2016, 2018 and 2019). Chad Chevalier of Port Colborne, Ontario earned the championship in 2017.
The Race of Champions is a sanctioning body presenting Modified and Stock Car racing on asphalt and dirt surfaces throughout the Northeast, with events in New York, Pennsylvania and New Jersey with primary marketing partners Hoosier Racing Tire, VP Racing Fuels, Lucas Oil Products, MAVTV, MAVTV Plus, Airport Collision, Rocket Performance, Waddell Communications, Image X Design, Sherwood Racing Wheels, DirtTrackDigest.com and Speed Sport. The 72ndt annual Race of Champions weekend will take place in 2022 at Lake Erie Speedway in North East, Pennsylvania and is the second-longest consecutive auto-racing event in North America, second only to the Indianapolis 500.
