Cars lined up for the 71 National open. Lazzaro and eventual winner #58 Merv Treichler. Merv won Langhorne, Daytona and Watkins Glen road races and the Big Dirt race later known as Super dirt.....not too shabby! pic by me.

Merv Treichler won the 1970 Langhorne event, and that is definitely Merv's 1971 ride. The above photo was of the first two rows (Geoff Bodine #99, Richie Evans #61, Merv #58 and Lou #4). Merv's cousin Roger Treichler won in his #74 coach in the final event ever run in Langhorne's history in 1971 after starting 6th.

This one is from 1981...It's a gimme on the top...but I left the name on the bottom picture as i couldn't make it out...maybe someone else will have better luck...photo credits look to be Lukowski and Judge?

Thats the Late RON DUPLANTIS. He bought Humberstone Intl Speedway and ran the track from 88 and 89 sold the track to the Wagners and hence GASPORT SPEEDWAY until sold in 2004

Sorry about that....I always seem to get those two years mixed up as I was just a kid and tagged some of my pictures with the wrong year. Here's one I took at Trenton after the open moved over there.

Loved the look of that "Leanin' 11", of Johnny MacArdle.  I remember him in the Limited (flat head) division at Canandaigua in 1964. He won a few features that year, as I recall.

Nice photos bigfeet! I think the #513 is Fireball Roberts, and the sharp #14 is Milt Johnson (B&M speed shop, father of Danny & Alan).

Thanks. They are from Mike Ferguson's collection. He had me scan his collection, and told me to go ahead and share. Some of the pics are Bob Hunter photo's. Others he took himself, and a few early Brewerton shots (I actually used some of your pics to verify that's where they were from). There's a bunch. I'll post a few every week. There are some unique shots he took from Langhorne from '70 - '71.

Yes the 513 is "Fireball" Roberts.

Sonny in the #55 flathead was not one I'd seen before. First I remember seeing him was in the yellow #28 '58 Ford at Spencer. Any idea what year/track the pic of him in the #55 was from?
