sounds like a lot of people on this forum are addicted to NASCAR just like they are to our government!  If you don't like NASCAR then quit watching, if you don't like the government then stop voting.  in both cases by continuing to participate you're encouraging them to perpetuate the status quo!

There are always many, many empty seats there for the stock cars. The place has something like 275,000 seats from what I understand. They fill them up pretty good for the Indy 500, but even that race has lost a lot of fans due to the silly Indy Car split that happened in the '90's.

Today's race sucked. It was boring as heck. This race is nothing special. It is just another 400 mile NASCAR follow the leader race. ESPN's announcers would like us to think that this event is special, but those of us who have followed the sport for 50 years are just a bit smarter than that.

According to Ernie Saxton's column in this week's AARN, there were 120,000 people in the stands for the Brickyard 400.

That anounced number came from NASCAR and is way off. That would mean that close to half the seats their would have had someone sitting in it.I dont think that they had that many if you counted all three races.
