Lee Bliss and Jack Champion pass on

Lee Bilss of Rochester, age 86, passed away on Apr. 7th. Mr. Bliss held the speed record at Daytona Beach where on Feb. 18th, 1954 he set a one way record of 110.46.
Also, Jack H. Champion Sr. of Lodi, age 73, passed away on March 16. He was a competitor at Dundee, Chemung and South Seneca (Ovid).

Lee was a great racer I may be mistaken but I think he won the first Oswego Classic driving for Dick Mangus !!  RIP Lee You had a great ride Prayers go out toLee and His Family !!!

Lee Bliss won the third Oswego International Classic in 1959 with the Dick Mangus #5. Jack Murphy #6 won the first event in 1957, and Billy Blum #23 won the 1958 event.
My thoughts are with the family and friends of Lee.

I can't believe I never saw this.  I stumbled on his obituary online, and wondered if we all missed it, so I went back through the older posts. Rest in peace, Lee.

  I never had the pleasure of watching either of these Gentlemen in competition, I guess I must have missed a lot.
