I start this by saying it's a dam shame that I need to do this. Disgruntled people and social media strike again. We have a social media policy for a reason. As a fan, you have the absolute right to do and say what you feel on social media. as a competitor, car owner, sponsor, you have the absolute right to speak your mind and to tear me and the track to shreds, just know that when that happens, you are no longer welcome. There was an issue with the rules that I take and took full responsibility for. As the race director, my job is running the show from the tower, I was doing everything in my power to keep things moving so we could get the entire show in. The rule issue in question was not brought to my attention until the racing was completed and made my way to the pay shack with the finishes. At that point, it was too late to do what was being asked. The two cars in question were gone, left the track along with many others due to the fact that it was pouring. Again, I take full responsibility for the failure.

With that being said, I was told before walking away that the drivers I was meeting with would not be returning, the owner of 4 of the cars said they would not be coming back. I have always lived by this rule for myself, I will listen, argue, fight or simply talk but the second you say you aren't coming back to race, the discussion on my end is over. All that tells me is you want to punish me by not coming back and if you aren't coming back, there is nothing more to talk, yell or argue about.

I am wrong for how the issue was handled, I am not going to make excuses, but going to Facebook and starting a post that grows wings quick and completely makes the track look terrible because I messed up, just isn't fair. I run a business, thats what this Is, a business. When you go to social media and attack my business, attack me, like I said, you have that right. but in turn, I now have the right to turn you away from my business.

The negative participation from a person I thought was a friend, from competitors that are human and make mistakes, from a sponsor who also owns a local business and one that I personally give my business to is absolutely unacceptable to me and I have every intention ending their participation at Chemung Speedrome for as long as I am there.

And for the 5 to 7 drivers who stood in front of me and said you weren't coming back, That was your choice and I plan on holding you to it. After all the Facebook nonsense, It isn't your choice anymore. Its a rotten thing to lose cars in what is a great class, great racing, great looking cars and fun for 80% of drivers. We will continue on, I am not going to be bullied for making a mistake and doing something wrong, we are all human, no one died, no one got hurt, well I guess some feelings got hurt but that's life. I know people will say its stupid to push cars away, and you are right, its stupid to push anyone away and I dont like doing it, Look at this way, if you owned a business, are you going to let people in the door, in your house or business and disrespect what you are attempting to do because someone made a mistake. I would rather go bankrupt than cater to people who act this way towards something I have worked so hard to build and keep going. If these 5 to 7 cars are my demise, so be it,

We will be back Friday night with a great show, the racers that want to race and do it because they are racers will all be there and it will be a great show.
