I'm hoping someone can offer some advice...I have a set of Hodgdon wheel scales, purchased back around 1984-85. They were somewhat the "trick" deal back then, before the electronic scales became available. Anyway, they came in a set of 4, and use some sort of "hydraulic load cell" to calculate the weight of the wheels. I used them only 3-4 times. They came packed in a wooded box, which had them standing vertically, and naturally, over time, the oil seeped out.
Several years ago, I was going to return them to the "Mr. Hodgdon" that made them, as he said he could "re-charge and re-calibrate" them for me, however, like all projects along this line, I didn't get to it right away, and other things took priority. The scales sat there, getting lost behind other stuff. I was thinking about getting them fixed up to use again, and I can no longer locate "Mr. Hodgdon".
Does anyone know how these worked, and how I could go about making them work again? I don't want to try tearing them apart, "willy-nilly", and potentially breaking them, assuming that they'd still be usable if the hydraulic oil was replaced.....
