will 8.2 ring and pinion fit an 8.5 rear and if so will the 8.2 ring gear fit on the 8.5 carrier or do i need an 8.2 carrier? need some different options for ratios and the 8.2 has them, but stuck with an 8.5 housing
we have a 8.2 rear w/8.5 gears in it not sure what had to be done with it for them to work in a 8.2 housing. We have a 342 gear out of a full size pickup in the rear
The pinions and pinion bearings are different sizes.I put an 8.5 carrier in an 8.2 The ring gear went right on but the carrier went in the housing to tight to adjust the gears so they fit right.
