ERIC BEERS HONORED FOR HIS MAHONING VICTORY

Eric Beers was very happy after winning a 100-lap feature at Mahoning Valley Speedway on Saturday night in his racing debut for DeLange Racing. It was a dominating performance for the Northampton, PA driver as he led every lap in the maiden voyage for the brand new Horwith Freightliner #45 Modified and he deservedly celebrated after the race.

But Beers was overjoyed on Wednesday when he learned he was named the winner of the ?Quarter Master Clutch Performance of the Week" by a panel of voters on Speed51.com. This prestigious award is coveted by short track racers at speedways across the countryside. It reflects ?performing in the clutch? which separates a winner from the rest of the competition. Performing in the clutch doesn't necessarily mean winning, however; it's all about making the most from what you've got. That's why Quarter Master, providers of winning clutches & driveline components to racers from every level of the racing world, is proud to honor a weekly "Clutch Performance of the Week" from the short track ranks of America.

Eric Beers exemplified the spirit that Quarter Master embodies ? a racer that overcame all obstacles to make the most out of what he had. He, with the help of members of his loyal pit crew, built the #45 Modified in his shop from scratch in just three months. He overcame several obstacles along the way, including the loss of three special people in his life. During the offseason Beers lost three very close individuals; his father, Dale Beers, his nephew Dakota Galusha who was one week shy of his 13th birthday, and his best friend and fellow racer Keith Kocher. Instead of burying himself in sorrow, he used the losses as encouragement which helped carry him to Victory Lane on Saturday night.

Please join us in congratulating our friend and teammate on a job well done and the recognition of being honored by Quarter Master. He proved to be worthy of meeting the challenge. Well done, Eric!
