Corning race fever canceled after 30 years.

Don't blame the yuppies, blame "the ?exorbitant cost? of booking Sprint Cup drivers to sign autographs". Today's drivers are getting as bad as baseball players in that regard.

An excuse to get rid of a "hillbilly" party. No other reason than that, trust me the people that are in charge of Corning are every bit as liberal as Ithaca. Race fever doesn't fit in with the wine drinking, artsy, rich, Coring inc management model of the city.

Richard Childress would fit right in with these inc peoples.  His net worth is $200 Million and he owns and operates Childress Vineyards.  Here is the link in case you want to make a visit and hang with him and his wine drinking hillbilly friends.

I heard a rumor that he's into art and might have some of Kevin Harvick's finger paintings on the walls and in the lavatories.

Cancelling Race Fever is very disappointing, and they have no idea how many people tat event alone draws to Corning and the businesses there. But you are right, Indian. The powers that be in COrning remind me greatly of the local government in Ithaca.

So maybe NOW would be a good time for Watkins Glen to resurrect their NASCAR festival, even though Judy Phillips did everything she could to get rid of it.

By the way, someone should let Mike Jackson and Sue Foster know about this, because one of the things Sue mentioned to me at the meeting was they would be there advertising Black Rock. Of course, there is always the "Challenge The Champions" to benefit the Spalding Foundation event at the go kart track Thursday night before the Cup race at Watkins.
