Just got an email from a writer in New England that former Northeastern Modified driver Bobby Santos passed away this morning at 1:00 am. Way to close to Christmas for stuff like this to happen. Here's thinking of the family.Bobby Santos at Shangri-Laphotographer unknown

Grandson Bobby Santos, III will do his name proud when he steps up to Bill Davis racing's ARCA and Busch ride next summer. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends. -Brian and Tristan Lavoie

Bobby was one of the very best. One of a few that could more than hold his own against the likes of Bugsy Stevens, Fred DeSarro, and Ed Flemke. The picture of him, Bobby Jr., and Bobby III taken this summer at Stafford after Bobby III won the $50G was the happiest I ever saw Bobby Santos Sr. May he rest in peace. Thoughts and prayers to the family.

Oh, that's a shame. I liked watching the Frito Bandito. That car was very cool looking too. My condolences to the Santos family
