Stewart Friesen teams up with Spire Motorsports for a ride for the Bristol dirt race. Here's the paint scheme...

FWIW, all I can say about the Bristol show, is that it was "different". Might have been more interesting, had it not been so dusty. From the driver's viewpoint, I can't imagine driving 90 MPH, without really being able to see where I was going..........

Since there's very little racing currently going on....

No, I didn't, but after giving the image that I saw some more thought, something struck me. As far as I know, there wasn't any racing in NY, last season, and Google Earth does update their imaging every so often. The last time I recall being on the Google site, and scanning around that area, the...

Since there's very little racing currently going on....

.......I thought I'd post this "tidbit", in the "racing section". I was scanning western NY, on the 'Google Earth' website, looking for some travel route information. While doing that, I was thinking of today's postponed Bristol dirt race, which got me thinking of the DIRT show that's been held...

    ROC mods @ Spencer?

That was how the 2019 races were run, and how the 2020 races were supposed to be run.....

    ROC mods @ Spencer?

Well, it appears that the illustrious Governor has decided to show some benevolence, and is allowing outdoor sporting events, motorsports included, to resume this summer, with slight crowd reductions in place. Sadly, the crowd restrictions probably won't need to be in effect, at Spencer's, if...

2021 racing season in New York

Hopefully, the restrictions on outdoor sports events will be lifted, in the very near future. Assuming that indeed happens, will the same group of enthusiasts that promoted the 2019 season at Spencer Speedway be able (and willing!!) to once again lease the track, and put on some shows?

    Kyle Larson wins

I agree. I'll go out on a limb, here, and assume that John is referring to "Bubba", with his second comment. What I wonder, is what will happen to the team, if Bubba fails to deliver the success that he felt he could produce. Will the "ballers" pull their money, and go home?

    What was NASCAR thinking??

OR, weren't they thinking at all? One of the biggest races of the year, the Daytona 500 was scheduled to be telecast this past Sunday, beginning at 2:30 PM, EST. As usual, while the broadcast indeed began at 2:30, the usual pre-race "stuff" took about 30 minutes to be tended to, so the race...

    Anyone watch the Busch Clash?

Although running the race on the road course was an interesting twist, I think the idea of making it partially a "dirt track" event wasn't the best of ideas......

Merry Christmas and hopefully, a Happy New Year to all the race fans in the country. Hopefully 2021 will bring better times, as well as a return to some sort of "normalcy".

    Happy Thanksgiving!

This has been a rough year, for both we racing enthusiasts, as well as the population in general. Fortunately, if you're reading this post, you've managed to survive the uproar, although not necessarily in a joyous fashion. Nonetheless, I sincerely wish all of you a Happy Thanksgiving, urge you...

    Here we go.....AGAIN!

Lengthy article in today's edition of the Rochester, NY newspaper, the 'Democrat&Chronicle', outlining yet another group of griping neighbors wanting to curtail/shut down a long standing race track. This time, the target is the Canandaigua, NY dirt track. Although the article didn't come right...

    Genesee Speedway "busted"

A list of bars/restaurants in the Rochester area, was posted in today's (07/28) Democrat&Chronicle newspaper, citing various infractions of the state's Covid-19 restrictions, with respect to their operating procedures. Genesee Speedway, in Batavia was also listed as one of the violators, but...

    They staged a "protest".

Many race fans are wondering when race tracks will re-open, based on the various states' mandates, regarding the gathering of sports fans at sporting events. As we all know, people are getting quite frustrated over this. Ace Speedway, in Elon North Carolina decided that they had had enough...

    RIP Ted Appleton

Although I'm not familiar with this young modified driver, I read in the Rochester newspaper a few days ago, that Ted Appleton had passed away, about a week ago. May he RIP.

Don't know if this is news.....

A buddy of mine just e-mailed me......he was browsing through the 'Racing Junk' website, and lo and behold, he saw a "for sale" listing for Spencer Speedway.
